SUMMARY:9th Annual Virginia Legacy Run
DESCRIPTION:Riders from several motorcycling organizations will be on their
  bikes the weekend of June 18-20 raising funds for the American Legion’s
  Veterans and Children’s Foundation in the ninth annual “Virginia Lega
 cy Run\n\nThe riders principally represent the American Legion Riders and 
 Veterans of Foreign Wars Riders\, to raise money supporting veterans and h
 ave raised nearly $560\,000 during the last eight years. The fundraising g
 oal for this year is $100\,000. Each rider pays a fee to participate in th
 e event and there are auctions\, memorabilia sales\, and other fund-raisin
 g activities during the ride to increase the amount of the charitable dona
 tion. The ride is organized each year by Randy “BB” Gunn and his wife\
 , Liz\, residents of Chesterfield. The ride is held in a different part of
  the Commonwealth each year. There are expected to be more than 200 motorc
 ycles in formation participating in the ride\, which are often escorted by
  local law enforcement personnel for safety and traffic control. The route
  for the riders on Friday will be from Colonial Beach through Mineral\, Ru
 ckersville\, Ruther Glen and returning to Colonial Beach with a couple of 
 stops for fuel and stopping for lunch at Stonewall Harley Davidson\, 51 Bu
 ck Drive\, in Ruck-ersville from noon to 1:30 p.m. The end of Friday’s r
 ide will be a dinner at the Colonial Beach Eagles\, 517 Co-lonial Avenue. 
 Riders will be on the roads from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. On Saturday\, June 20
 \, the bikers will again be on the road at 8 a.m. and riding from Colonial
  Beach through Kilmarnock\, Hayes\, Gloucester\, Tappahannock\, and again 
 ending in Colonial Beach with a couple of stops for fuel. Lunch on Saturda
 y will be at American Legion Post 75 in Gloucester from 12:15-1:50 p.m. Me
 dia are encouraged to photograph the ride while passing through your area\
 , and interviews with some participants can be facilitated during the lunc
 h stops or at the Colonial Beach Eagles building on Friday even-ing. The r
 iders are also going to begin the ride both days by “Riding the Point”
  in a parade of motorcycles in Colonial Beach at 8 a.m. Contact the Media

 ong the Point in Colonial Beach are encouraged to come out and watch the p
 arade of bikes Friday and Saturday morning and waive American flags which
